What is Sakulanguage?
Sakulanguage provides a service for anyone who has a passion for learning language.
Japanese is a beautiful and interesting language – as you will discover when taking one of our classes. In addition to language lessons, we provide English to Japanese Translation services and business consultation.
Mika was born and raised in Tokyo. After working as a magazine editor, she moved to New York City.
She has vast experience in teaching Japanese. Including translation in Japan and the U.S. She loves singing (especially Barbershop style music), Japanese animations, and cats.
She became fascinated by language as a tool of expression through learning how to sing traditional Japanese songs, acting in musicals, and especially with singing opera arias.

Mika
Aki
Japanese Teacher
Aki was born and raised in Japan and is a graduate of International Christian University in Tokyo where she received a BA in English. She worked for 15 years as a banker in Tokyo and NYC.
Aki received her teacher training at the Japan Society Teacher Training program in NYC. She is a patient and thoughtful teacher, and enjoys connecting with people of different ages and backgrounds through teaching.
Fusae
Japanese Teacher
Fusae was born and raised in Tokyo, Japan. After obtaining a BA in Japanese literature from Tokyo Women’s Christian University, she worked in Public Relations and Marketing.
She participated in Columbia University’s graduate program in Japanese Pedagogy, and is a graduate of NYC Japan Society’s Teacher Training program.
She always seeks to find creative teaching methods to make Japanese learning fun and exciting for her students.

Kaoru
Japanese Teacher
Kaoru holds a BA in History from Waseda University and a BA in Japanese Language Teacher Training Course in Education from Soka University in Tokyo. She is a graduate of Japan Society’s Teacher Training Program and has learned Intensive Japanese Language Pedagogy.
She is an enthusiastic teacher with twenty plus years of vast experience in education, ranging from preschool to high school. She is comfortable working with students of different backgrounds and communicating effectively to build strong relationships.
Kaoru loves reading Japanese novels and cooking “everyday” Japanese food, while enjoying being a mom of three grown-up children.
